In her recent article "8 surprising reasons why kelantan deserves to be on your travel list" she said that her 6-hour driving to Kelantan was well-worth it because Kelantan is filled with culture, good food, eco adventures and shopping. Driving to Kelantan is easy, I myself traveled frequently to Kelantan either via Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT) or via Bentong-Kuala Lipis-Gua Musang. Nadhirah added that Kelantan is not just about Nasi Dagang, Nasi Kerabu or Budu. Kelantan's delicacies like kueh akok, bahulu, laksam, nasi kak wok and even roti bakar are easily available in the markets or roadside stalls that are scattered all across Kelantan. Personally, I would recommend Pasar Machang where local kueh and dishes are abundance. Worth to try are morning stalls opposite Jalan Hospital Machang where you can get a plate of nasi dagang or nasi kerabu for less than RM5!
If you like arts and selfie, hunt for street arts that are scattered around Kota Bharu and other towns as well. These street arts according to Nadhirah are gorgeous and very Instagrammable. You can also hunt for Wan Anuar Sapie at Kg. Badang, the legendary kite maker of Malaysia.
