Top 10 Hotels near Axiata Arena
Axiata Arena's name might not ring a bell to most because it is actually a rebranded name from as recent as early 2017, that is only almost 2 years at the time of writing. Previously it was known as Putra Indoor Stadium which was officially opened back in 1999.
On 16 January 2017, it was rebranded into Axiata Arena in a collective effort to build a sporting nation and it is also Malaysia's first corporate name stadium in partnership between Axiata Group Berhad and Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM). It was all done as the first step to redevelop Bukit Jalil Sports Complex to KL Sports City (KLSC). Still working for that first Olympic Gold Medal! Go Team Malaysia!
Fun fact, Axiata Arena has the highest seating capacity among any indoor arena in Malaysia with a maximum capacity of 14,452 seats! So with an arena of this capacity, for sure sports isn't the only purpose. Yes, it has served as the venue to various other non-sports related events such as Disney on Ice, award shows, E-Sports Tournament (Dota 2 - KL Major 2018) and concerts for notable artist such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, Ed Sheeran, Westlife, JJ Lin, Big Bang, Exo and many more!
So if you happen to attend an event in Axiata Arena, this blog post, as we believe, will come in very handy for you. Read along now and happy booking!
