They serve Mee Bandung with a rich and thick prawn flavour. The combination of their specially made sambal, shrimps, cuttlefish and beef results in this savoury and you will feel a little overpowering taste that will linger long in your taste buds.

4. Ah Teck Chwee Kueh


When you are in Muar, start your day by having breakfast at Ah Teck Chwee Kueh. This is the locals’ favourite roadside stall that has been running for over decades, and they come here for the conventional breakfast - Chwee Kueh.




Serving you the most fluffy steamed rice cakes that topped with salty “choy bou” (preserved radish), it is hard to stop after taking the first bite. The local people often take away to give them to their colleagues or take them as their breakfast snack.

5. Muar Soup House


Once was only a small pedicab stall selling various soups at the roadside, has now grown to owning 3 shop houses in Muar. The humble bowl of soup is overloaded with mutton or beef according to what you order and you wouldn’t find any gamey taste of raw meat. Robust, thick and giving off a slightly herbal smell, the soup will definitely exceed your expectations.

This food court has been operated for quite sometime, since 1980 and it is the biggest and crowded food court in Muar, with around 20-30 stalls. This place is like all the good food has all caught in one net. As for your recommendation if you are a first-timer, you should try out the otak-otak, satay and fried oyster. They are just so nice with their own "Muar taste" and most importantly, cheap!
