If you ever want to travel to the Maldives for fishing, I can highly recommend Mariana Fishing Charters. They are located on Gaafaru, which is just an hour north of Male and its international airport. The fishing around the island has a lot to offer. In just a couple minutes of driving, you can reach beautiful reefs where you can cast light tackle for a big variety of reef species or cast big poppers and stickbaits for big GTs. Only a few meters away from the reefs it is possible to do some jigging in 30, 80, 100 or even 200m of water. It’s also possible to drive a little bit further out and have a chance to catch offshore species like Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna. Our Captains and the staff of Mariana inn were very nice too. I can highly recommend the Mariana Inn and Mariana Fishing Charters, we are already thinking about our next trip to Gaafaru.
We had a great time as guests of the Mariana Inn. It started with perfect organization of transfer from the airport, then a warm welcome, nice and clean rooms. Best of all, super friendly and supporting staff. We (three anglers) were out with Ahmed, Mohamed and Hussein for fishing. It was a fantastic fishing safary with different sorts of trevally including giant trevally, many groupers, dogtooth and yellowfin tuna, even mahi mahi and wahoo. We wanted to fish different techniques: jigging shallow and deep, throwing big poppers and also casting small jerkbaits. Ahmed and his colleagues had a good spot for all of our fishing wishes. Some days fishing was a bit slow but the captains were very eager to find a productive spot then. They never gave up and were extremely motivated. Overall we had a great amount of nice fish in the boat. In the morning and in the evening (after fishing) was dinner time in the beautiful Mariana Inn restaurant. Great food and a proper portion. No one had to stay hungry. We had a great stay and can fully recommend the Mariana Inn and its staff.

Тур по Мальдивским островам. Третий остров GAAFARU. Остановилась в MARIANA INN. Вежливый персонал, всегда готовы помочь, уютные номера. К основному завтраку подается мальдивское блюдо тунец с кокосом + свежие мини бананы, срезанные прямо у тебя на глазах. Заказали на ужин громадную рыбу, получилось суховато. Обедали и ужинали в другом ресторане, т.к. у нас были включены только завтраки. Пляж, магазины, пристань рядом. Рекомендую. На Гаафару самый лучший пляж и океан.
