The experience was exactly what we expected. We were 4 pax and stayed for 2D1N in the family beachfront that is advertised for 5 pax. It was a snug and comfortable fit for us, but I can imagine it might be too tight for 5 pax for larger-sized people. The receptionist was friendly and allowed us to leave our bags in there prior to check-in, she gave us recommendations for a boatman offering island hopping and watersports, recommended lunch spots, and helped us book pink taxis. The location is great, the direct access to the private beach is great. There's also sandy parts of the retreat that are not accessible to the public so we felt very safe napping and picnicking on the sand within the retreat. Breakfast is typical Malaysian style, very simple: cereal, breads, nasi lemak, kuih-muih, and a drink machine (coffee, tea, milo). Perfect for a quick bite before starting the day. Only comment was the groundskeeper started blowing leaves throughout the morning and afternoon which could be a bit disruptive to the guests, suggest to use leaf rake instead of leaf blower when guests are visibly relaxing on the beach.
We had a great stay! The room was very nice and i just love the whole place's aesthetic 😆 the breakfast that was provided wasn't much but it was good! Great place, great view. Awesome overall 💖
The room was a bit small since it’s made from a cargo container, but it looked nice and cozy. The best part is the location, right in front of the beach, super peaceful and relaxing. You can even hear the waves from the room, which was really calming. Staff were friendly and the price felt fair for the view and location. Would definitely stay here again if I visit Pangkor.
We had a great time here, holidaying with the family. 9adults,4 kids. We stayed comfortably in 4rooms, had sedap sedap buffet breakfast of nasi lemak, meehoon goreng, and some kueh. Everyone loved the popia sira and the doughnuts. It's our 2nd time here, and will definitely not be our last.
Great escape for a short vacay! The breakfast menu was simple but delicious. Alun Retreat is clean and located in a quiet area — perfect for relaxing. There was one friendly female staff member (cik hazza) who made our stay even better.
