The room was a bit small since it’s made from a cargo container, but it looked nice and cozy. The best part is the location, right in front of the beach, super peaceful and relaxing. You can even hear the waves from the room, which was really calming. Staff were friendly and the price felt fair for the view and location. Would definitely stay here again if I visit Pangkor.
We had a great time here, holidaying with the family. 9adults,4 kids. We stayed comfortably in 4rooms, had sedap sedap buffet breakfast of nasi lemak, meehoon goreng, and some kueh. Everyone loved the popia sira and the doughnuts. It's our 2nd time here, and will definitely not be our last.
Great escape for a short vacay! The breakfast menu was simple but delicious. Alun Retreat is clean and located in a quiet area — perfect for relaxing. There was one friendly female staff member (cik hazza) who made our stay even better.

Awesome unique place to stay on Pangkor! I stayed in an upper ocean front unit - it was very cool & extremely comfortable with all of the amenities and comforts you would need + a balcony with lovely views! (I will warn though I was in the second unit back so it wasn't the unobstructed ocean view as advertised in the pics/there was a tree in the way.) Amazing to walk down the steps and right on to the beach; swimming was wonderful on the hot days and at night! The staff were lovely - very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and it's an easy walk to a number of yummy places to eat. Loved my stay here - highly recommended!
