Quiet and a place to relax at night. Be awakened by the chirping of birds in the morning. Yet it is near restaurants and convenience store. Fresh and cheap seafood available near this area as there are fishermen's market. Cloves, nutmegs,durians are synonymous with Balik Pulau. Balik Pulau is the branded durian hub of Malaysia. Other fruit trees like soursoup, rambutans, dokong, guavas, jackfruit, cempedak are aplenty. Cycling in Balik Pulau is exciting and adventurous getting to know the friendly locals surrounded with rice fields and nature. Hiking too can be arranged to Gertak Sanggul and Air Itam dam. Bicycles are available for rental at RM15/day.
Good food around Balik Pulau are Jia Siang fresh seafood during lunch time. (cheap and delicious).
Ah Boy at Kim Kim restaurant just 100m away from Happy Homestay serves delicious dinner (special vegetables, fried taufu and the ray fish curry needs recommendatiion.
As for halal food, restaurant Peladang is nearby which has more than 40 dishes to choose from. Other halal restaurant are Thai food at Hilltop at Anjung Indah, Genting Thai food on top of a hill, Gertak Sanggul laksa janggus, mee udang at Gertak Sanggul etc.
